Why Make Commercial Food Donations to the Food Bank?
- DEDUCT UP TO TWICE THE COST OF GOODS
Donations to the Food Bank, a 501(c)3 nonprofit, are eligible for a charitable tax donation of up to twice the cost of foods. We encourage you to consult with your tax advisor in applying the appropriate deduction(s) for your business.
- MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN YOUR COMMUNITY
You and your employees can feel good about putting food on the tables of clients in need exclusively in Alameda County.
- DONATE TO HUNDREDS OF ORGANIZATIONS THROUGH ONE SOURCE
Alameda County Community Food Bank distributes enough food for 300,000 meals weekly to 240 strategically placed member agencies – food pantries, soup kitchens, child-care centers, senior centers, after-school programs and other community based organizations.
- SAVE MONEY
By making a product donation, you can save space and eliminate the high costs associated with storing, transporting and dumping unsalable food. We’ll even ensure timely pickup of your donation.
- GENERATE CORPORATE GOODWILL
Donating food can build loyalty with your customers. Recent surveys show that 83% of consumers have a positive image of companies which support causes they care about – and 81% would be likely to switch brands to one associated with a good cause.
