You Can Get Involved in the Food Bank’s Holiday Events!

Holiday Food Drive
October 1 - January 31

Help the Food Bank collect 750,000 pounds of food to help families in need this holiday season.

Here’s how you can help:
Organize a food drive at your business or organization and make it fun for your company while making a difference in your community. Contact the Food Drive Department at (510) 635-3663, ext. 318 or register online.

Donate healthy, non-perishable food. Simply drop your food donations in the red food drive barrels located in Safeway stores, Whole Foods, Lucky Stores and Berkeley Bowl in Alameda County or click here for more barrel locations.

November 1 – 28

Cheer the Bears and bring a food donation to any game during November 2007.

ABC7 "End Hunger Now" Thanksgiving Food Drive
November 12 - November 23

Did you know that to help the Food Bank stock up for the Thanksgiving holiday, ABC7 will thank people on air who make donations? Here's how it works. If you donate $250 or more to the Alameda County Community Food Bank, your name will be read on the air by TV personality Spencer Christian during the 6pm news on Channel 7 from November 12-23. This is a great way to get on TV while helping a great cause! Individuals and companies can participate. Call 510.635.3663, ext. 327 to make a donation or for more information.

Scouting For Food
Saturday, November 17

The biggest one-day food drive of the year! Local Boy Scout troops will leave a bag at your front door. Fill it up with nutritious, non-perishable food and place it on your front door on Saturday, November 17 for the Boy Scouts to collect and distribute to local food banks. Contact the Food Drive Department at 510.635.3663, ext. 318 for more details.

KBLX Tree Lighting, Jack London Square
Friday, November 23, 1-7 pm

Come join in the festivities at Jack London Square. Bring a bag of nonperishable food and enjoy a high school choir competition, concerts, games, prizes and time to visit with Santa. Actual tree lighting is at 6 pm.

Share Your Holidays
Monday, December 10

Join the Food Bank, Safeway and ABC7 for a one-day food drive. ABC 7 will broadcast live from Safeway locations throughout Alameda County. Stop by Safeway at 2505 San Ramon Valley Rd., San Ramon and enjoy music, dancing, crafts, and more! Bring your whole family and enjoy the festivities.

CBS5/ Whole Foods "Food for Bay Area Families"
Through January 31, 2008

Stop by Whole Foods in Oakland and Berkeley to donate nonperishable food items.
