Nutrition Education

Using hands-on and interactive methods, the Nutrition Education Program helps maximize the nutritional value, safe storage, preparation and cost-effectiveness of food distributed by the Food Bank.

Nutrition programs include resources for the general public and Food Bank partner agencies:

Making healthy eating a reality for all communities

Kids Can Cook:
Nutrition and cooking classes for children ages 4 and up at participating after school programs.

Food Safety Program onsite:
Trains agency partners in safe food preparation and storage.

Intern Program:
Introduces university students interested in nutrition, dietetics and public health to working with and serving low-income populations.

Nutrition Services:
Meal preparation workshops, food demonstrations and nutrition presentations for agency partners.

Nutrition Resource Room:
Nutrition resources for Food Bank agency partners and the public.
