Calendar Listing/Public Service Announcement
“SCOUTING FOR FOOD” FOR BAY AREA FOOD BANKS

The Boy Scouts are joining together with Bay Area Food Banks to help stop hunger in our communities. You can help by leaving a bag of non-perishable food on your doorstep on Saturday, November 20 for the annual Boy Scout Food Drive. Thousands of Bay Area scouts will participate in the event, which collects food for hungry people in our communities.

In the week preceding the food drive, Boy Scouts will distribute "Scouting for Food" bags door to door in Bay Area neighborhoods. Then, on November 20, residents are asked to fill the bags with non-perishable food and place them outside their front doors before 9:00 am. Boy Scouts will collect the food and bring it to a local food bank or food pantry. For more information, including community collection sites, call 1-800-870-FOOD.
