Alameda County residents can help feed the hungry in their community by participating in two upcoming Food Drives hosted by the Alameda County Community Food Bank.
The Lenten Food Drive (March 1—April 16). Alameda County religious organizations are invited to collect food and financial donations in celebration of the Lenten season. The drive starts on Ash Wednesday and ends on Easter. The School Food Drive (March 1-31). Alameda County students from kindergarten through college are asked to assist people in need. Held in conjunction with National Nutrition Month, this food drive provides an opportunity for students to learn about making informed food choices.
