Help the Oakland A’s Strike Out Hunger by Bringing Canned Food to all Summer Home Games and Get Free Tickets to Future Games!
Oakland, Calif. (6/13/06) The Oakland A's have partnered with the Alameda County Community Food Bank to sponsor a "Strike Out Hunger" Food Drive this summer, and the promotion starts this Wednesday. Fans who bring non-perishable canned foods to each Wednesday home game in June, July and August will receive a voucher (a $14 value) good for a Plaza Level Outfield ticket to a future game (limit four vouchers per person per game). "The Oakland A's going to bat against hunger will help keep our shelves stocked during the critical summer months," states Suzan Bateson, executive director of the Alameda County Community Food Bank. "Summer is a tough time for families struggling to provide healthy food to their growing children, especially since children do not receive free school meals during summer break." Fans can drop off their canned food donations at food drive barrels located throughout the ballpark. The schedule of upcoming Wednesday home games is:
