We have  some exciting news to share. In late June, California Gov. Gavin Newsom signed a monumental state budget that will usher in some important milestones for hunger relief.

While there were a number of important wins, we’re thrilled about the increased funding for the state Earned Income Tax Credit (CalEITC). The addition of a $1,000 per-family child credit will amount to at least 3 million meals for Alameda County families per year.

This only happened because of you.

Expansion of CalEITC has been at the top of our advocacy priorities for three years. As the first Food Bank to join a statewide coalition advocating for this expansion, our staff, volunteers, and grassroots advocates are playing a key role in expanding this policy that lifts up working families in our community.

Your support, your contributions, and your voice are instrumental in our ability to be forceful advocates to create meaningful change at all levels of government.
