The holidays are a busy time for everyone, but they’re especially busy here at the Food Bank. Our demand spikes and we need all the support we can get.

We’re so thankful to all the corporations and local businesses that make donating simple and easy. Whether you’re grabbing groceries, getting a head start on holiday shopping, or kicking off the season with a jog around Lake Merritt – you can support the Food Bank and ensure the 116,000 people we serve each and every month have healthy food this holiday season and beyond.

While you’re banking:

Wells Fargo: Now until Dec. 31, Wells Fargo will *match* donations up to $1 million. You can make a donation online or at your local ATM. You can also donate nonperishable food items at Wells Fargo branches.

Patelco Credit Union: Visit your local Patelco Credit Union branch to donate nonperishable food items through Dec. 17.

Bank of America: Special thanks to Bank of America for their support this holiday season.

While you’re looking for gifts:

Oaklandish: Sometimes the presentation of the gift is better than the gift itself – especially when local favorite, Oaklandish, designs the gift box! This holiday season, when you purchase a gift box from Oaklandish stores or online, all proceeds will come to us. Each box is $3 and comes complete with gold ribbon and tissue paper. There are two cool designs to choose from –  the multi tree logo or the acorn leaf. Either way, your gift will be the talk of The Town!

Rigel Stuhmiller: Acclaimed printmaker and illustrator, Rigel Stuhmiller, set a goal of donating 10,000 meals to the Food Bank. She will donate $1 from the sale of every 2019 Farmer’s Market Calendar to ACCFB. And, 5 cents from every item sold will be donated as well!

Sora Designs: Sora Designs created a beautiful line of #ENDHUNGER x Foodie Jewelry and 100 percent of the profits from this collection benefit ACCFB.

Crate&Barrel: From Nov. 1 – Dec. 31, customers can donate online and at the register of Crate and Barrel stores. Crate and Barrel’s goal is to help bring 5 million meals to the table.

While you’re shopping for groceries:

Safeway: Through the end of the year, you can nourish a family while shopping at Safeway. Just rip off a ticket to make a donation of $1, $5, or $10. Hand it to your cashier at checkout. All donations will be rolled up to a $10 bag of non-perishable food for local families.

Whole Foods: Giving is easy at Whole Foods. You can drop a nonperishable food item in one of the donation bins or make a donation in-store. And be sure to bring your reusable bags while shopping at Whole Foods. You’ll have the option at checkout to donate your 5-cent savings to us. Those nickels add up to thousands of meals for our neighbors.

Raley’s: Now through Dec. 31, you can donate a $10 bag of fresh groceries for local families in need, either in-store or online at any local Raley’s or Nob Hill. You can also purchase a Food for Families plush bear with proceeds also coming to the Food Bank. And when you donate on Dec. 15, either online or thorough your eCart order, Raley’s will match your gift.

Sprouts: Grab a pre-filled personal care or healthy food donation bag from one of the Sprouts Grab ‘N Give displays. You’ll pay for it at checkout, and Sprouts will donate your bag directly to one of ACCFB’s partner agencies.

While you’re out and about:

Local Food Adventures: Take a food tour around Oakland and support the Food Bank. When you purchase a ticket or gift card, $1 will come to ACCFB.

Garden of Eden: When you purchase any HoneyComb Farms product, Garden of Eden will donate $2 to ACCFB.

Check back here often – we’ll update this list throughout the season.
