Here's how we're supporting our community during COVID-19.
Responding to COVID-19
Appeal Banner
A lot has happened in the past week and we've made a lot of progress thanks to your support. We're assembling and distributing thousands of Emergency Food Bags weekly, adding new distributions, and partnering with six school districts to ensure neighbors in all corners of our community can access groceries. Read more about our efforts and know we're here to help. Call our Helpline at 1-510-635-3663 or visit our resource page in English and Spanish
Thank you, volunteers

April is National Volunteer Appreciation Month. We'd love to tell each and every one of you in person how grateful we are for you. Even though the scene in our warehouse looks a little different - that doesn't change how critical volunteers were at the beginning of our emergency response and throughout the year. Just know we're thinking of our volunteers (all 17,000 of you) every day, and you're inspiring us to get through this. We can't wait until we can welcome you back into our warehouse.

Fueling our efforts

If you haven't seen, KTVU started a major effort to help local food banks meet the growing need. We're so grateful for their support. Click here to see the coverage and learn how you can get involved

Helping seniors amid COVID-19

Seniors are among the most vulnerable people impacted right now. In fact, up to two-thirds of our record Helpline call volume is coming from seniors looking for help. Read more in this San Francisco Chronicle article to see how food banks like ours are responding during this crisis.

Easy recipes featuring Food Bank staples
Restaurants are closed. Children are out of school. We're all spending more time at home and that boils down to cooking more meals. We rounded up four tasty, easy recipes featuring ingredients we're distributing in our Emergency Food Bags.
Counting on our community
Have you completed the Census? Now, more than ever, we need everyone to get counted so that our communities have the resources to respond to emergencies and public health crises. Get counted today - it only takes a few minutes.
An Important Update
Out of an abundance of caution, we've made the difficult decision to cancel Empty Bowls. Thank you for your understanding and support. Please check our website for other ways to get involved.
Host a Virtual Food Drive

Looking for a way to connect your family, friends, or coworkers? Host a Virtual Food Drive from home. As we scale our emergency response, we're seeing a greater demand for key, more expensive items. You can help us purchase nourishing meals for neighbors.

We're grateful for the outpouring of support we've received to help our crisis response. Thanks to this growing list of supporters who have stepped up this week:
