A closer look at our emergency response
Appeal Banner

More than 20 weeks into the COVID-19 pandemic, we - along with more than 290 of our partner agencies - are focused on safely bringing food to our community. In July, we distributed more than 4.2 million pounds of food - a record for our Food Bank. We also helped launch a fourth drive-through distribution site in partnership with Wells Fargo and Tri-City Volunteers. We're making a tremendous impact - thanks to your support.

Our leadership team recently hosted a Virtual Town Hall to share key updates about our emergency response efforts and what's on the horizon for our organization and community. The pandemic has had a profound - and likely permanent - effect on our community. If you missed it, be sure to watch the recording and get up to date on our response.

September volunteers needed!

Each week, we're distributing more than a million pounds of food. That's thanks to our volunteers who are building 10,000 emergency food bags weekly. And, we need more help in September. If you're able to join us for one full day at least once a week, sign up here

Why we're fighting for voter rights

Today, August 6, is the 55th anniversary of the Voting Rights Act - an important piece of civil rights legislation that outlawed discriminatory voting practices. This anniversary carries extra weight as it comes just weeks after the passing of Rep. John Lewis. Read why we're focused on ensuring equal access to democracy.

Save The Date: Savor the Season
We're thrilled to announce our 18th annual Savor the Season is going virtual. While we can't gather in person, this year's event will bring us together at home. We hope to see you on Sept. 13. Be sure to check your mailbox and inbox in the coming weeks for more info. Learn more.
COVIDchella raises money for our emergency response
Missing live music, a Food Bank volunteer organized a socially distanced music fest in her Albany neighborhood. With driveways set as stages - nearly 30 groups performed and raised more than $10,000 for our Food Bank! Read more and see some photos from the day.

Take action next month!
We can't end hunger without addressing poverty and racism. And, our work is more important than ever in light of the pandemic. September is Hunger Action Month. You'll hear from us on social media and here - in your inbox - as we gear up for the November election and share ways to stay civically engaged.
Thank you, Volunteers
Every July, we host our annual volunteer appreciation picnic. While we couldn't gather for it this year, that won't stop us from showing volunteers (all 13,000 of you!) our gratitude for your hard work and commitment. Please watch this message from our volunteer team.

We're grateful for the outpouring of support we've received to help our crisis response. See all our supporters >>
