Celebrating Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month
Appeal Banner

May is Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month. We look forward to celebrating AAPI history, culture, and contributions with you but, first, we must own up to a mistake. Read our response to the violence targeting the AAPI Community and explore resources gathered by our staff.

Staff Blog: Talofa Lava! (Greetings in Samoan)

Lisa Felice is one of the hard-working Distribution Specialists in our busy Oakland warehouse. She is also a life-long Alameda County resident, mother, grandmother, and Polynesian dancer. Recently, Lisa taught a Unity Chant to our Operations team to honor all of their work during the pandemic, celebrate her Samoan heritage and acknowledge the wave of violence targeting the AAPI Community.
Read Lisa's blog to learn how the team united in solidarity through chant.

CalFresh: Better than ever!

Did you know that ACCFB's CalFresh Outreach Program is one of the largest and longest-standing in California?

Each May we take time to uplift the power of this incredible program, celebrate its impact, and spread awareness about this powerful resource.

Please follow along this month on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter to learn more about why CalFresh is better than ever!

Ayesha Curry Testifies

Last month our good friend, partner, and co-founder of Eat.Learn.Play. Aysha Curry testified in front of the House Rules Committee's End Hunger in America Hearing.

Ayesha spoke specifically about ending childhood hunger in America and called for more support for the programs that feed America’s children. She may have even name-dropped ACCFB!
