Deep Dig Farm

Thank you to all who made our 22nd annual Savor the Season a vibrant afternoon filled with kindness and action and to our whole community that makes this work possible.

All combined, the support from the event will help us provide more than 1.9 million meals worth of food to our community — close, but not quite to our goal of 2 million meals!

As we discussed at the event, we're entering an exciting stretch as we build on our legacy of innovation and evolve from a "food charity" to a "food justice" model. Whether it be our new farm partnership and deepening commitment to supporting BIPOC-owned farmers; the broadened scope of our policy change efforts; or our burgeoning Food as Medicine initiatives — we are pointed in a direction where we're redefining what a food bank can and should be.

Those examples — among all the vital work we do every day — have something very important in common: You.

If you weren’t able to attend, will you help us reach our goal?

ICYMI: Election Season Virtual Town Hall Recording

Last month, ACCFB hosted a 2024 Election Season Virtual Town Hall in conversation with the Food Bank’s Policy & Partnerships team!

If you missed it or if you want a refresher, watch the recording below.

As we approach the election, it’s crucial to remember that hunger is on the ballot. The key ballot measures that we discussed will impact our community in a very real way. Thank you for working with us to address the root causes of hunger and building a more just future.

For more information on registering to vote, how to vote, and to access the 2024 ACCFB Anti-Hunger Voter Guide, head to accfb.org/vote.

Oakland A's Tickets

Meet Nancy

Nancy is a mother of three who loves to cook for her family and shared with us the importance of having healthy food for them to eat. Like many areas within our community, Nancy’s East Oakland neighborhood doesn’t have a grocery store, meaning she often needs to catch a bus to buy healthy food. Even when she is able to make it to a grocery store, she isn’t able to buy everything she needs. “The prices are too high,” said Nancy.

This is why Food Bank partners like East Oakland Collective (EOC) are so important to our work. Nancy first visited EOC earlier this year and has been able to receive free, healthy groceries from their distributions every week since. “People are really good here,” says Nancy. “They look out for each other.” Nancy loves turkey and lots of fresh vegetables.

Help us ensure Nancy — and all of us — have the food we need this holiday season and beyond.
