Looking Back and Looking Forward
|
 |
Since the start of ACCFB’s drive-through food distribution on March 30, 2020, hundreds of ACCFB staff, Alameda County Disaster Service Workers, and volunteers have been distributing nutritious food 3 days a week every week for nearly 2 years, come rain, shine, wind, or even wildfire smoke.
With the drive-through’s recent relocation we took the opportunity to commemorate the power of this community and celebrate everything we accomplished together on Oakport Street.

Volunteers Urgently Needed
|
 |
While many of our volunteer shifts fill up during the holiday season in November and December, when the spirit of volunteerism runs high, sign ups drop off significantly during the early months of the year. Now we’re also experiencing an unprecedented shortage due to the impact of the recent surge of Covid-19. We urgently need many more volunteers to help with:
- Warehouse food sorting (Half-day shifts for groups and individuals available)
- Home delivery drivers
- Drive-through food distribution at 69th food sorting and vehicle loading *New Location*
- Assisting partner organizations picking up food at our warehouse for their neighborhood distributions
Volunteers must be fully vaccinated against Covid-19, and vaccine boosters are strongly encouraged. Visit our volunteer safety page for additional safety information.
