Support for Community Agencies
Learn some of the ways our CalFresh Outreach team can support your community based organization.
CalFresh Pre-screening and Application Help
Food Bank staff is available to visit your community based organization to provide CalFresh pre-screening and application assistance. Send us an email to schedule a visit from our multilingual (English/Spanish/Cantonese/Mandarin/Vietnamese) outreach staff. Application assistance is also provided at the Food Bank office by appointment.
For more information, call 1-510-636-4905, or send us an email.
Free Trainings for Community Agencies
In collaboration with Alameda County Social Services Agency, we offer CalFresh trainings for local community agency representatives. At these trainings, you will receive helpful tools and information that can help you identify potentially eligible CalFresh recipients.
For example, in our CalFresh 101 & 102 trainings, you will learn how to pre-screen and identify households that are potentially eligible. Participants also learn about program eligibility for special populations such as seniors, people with disabilities, immigrants, felons and people who are homeless.
Join our email list to be notified of upcoming trainings.
Capacity Grants
The Food Bank’s CalFresh Partnerships Program builds the capacity of community agencies to conduct CalFresh outreach and provide application assistance and/or referrals in their community.
This is an ongoing application process. If you are interested, send us an email.
Presentations and Community Fairs
Our presentations and fairs help low-income families learn about eligibility for nutrition assistance programs like CalFresh.
Food Bank staff are available to visit community organizations and provide free presentations to their clients to help them learn about programs including summer lunch, Women, Infants and Children (WIC) and CalFresh.
To schedule an outreach presentation for your group, send us an email.
