Shannon Datcher is Vice President, Corporate Law at Blue Shield of California in Oakland, where she leads the Corporate Law Team and serves as Secretary and Legal Counsel to the Blue Shield of California Foundation. Blue Shield’s mission is to make the health care system worthy of our family and friends and sustainably affordable. In order to achieve this mission, both BSC and the BSC Foundation focus on the social determinants of health. As a result, Shannon is particularly interested in the affect food insecurity has on health and food inequity. She has volunteered for many years at the San Francisco Food Bank and has been a supporter of the Alameda County Food Bank for the last 10 years. The Children’s Backpack Program is near and dear to Shannon’s heart, and she donates to the program on an annual basis during ACCFB’s annual event, Savor the Season.

Coming from a mission driven organization, Shannon is ready to jump in and do whatever she can to help the Food Bank achieve its mission to alleviate hunger and promote public policies that address hunger and its root cause! Term expires 12/31/22.
