Food for today and tomorrow.
Our Outreach team helps families and individuals enroll in a program called CalFresh, a supplemental nutrition program that helps families stretch their food budgets and afford healthy food.
CalFresh, formerly known as food stamps and known nationwide as SNAP, is a critical, effective program—but many low-income families don’t know they’re eligible for support.
Our multilingual team guides eligible community members through the application process, securing a higher approval rate than the county average. We regularly host events at schools, health clinics, food distributions and more to help families and seniors learn about the program.
Not only does CalFresh support families, it also drives money into our local economy. Each year, our staff helps thousands of households enroll, which results in more than $20 million per year in economic stimulus directly to local grocers, farmers’ markets and retailers.
