Oakland has it all. Arts, culture, history—heck, even a lake in the middle of the city.

But it hasn’t had its very own Turkey Trot. That is, until now.

For the first time ever, the Oakland Turkey Trot is hosting a 5K race around Lake Merritt on Thanksgiving morning to benefit the Food Bank and other local non-profits. One-hundred percent of donations via this link will come straight to us.

The family-friendly event has races for all ages and running-levels, and you can even run in teams. Use the code “ACCFB” to get $10 off registration!

Fundraise for the Food Bank

Plus, if you want to taking your trottin’ even further, you can turn your Turkey Trot into a fundraiser. Once you create a custom page, send it along to your teammates, family, friends, or neighbors. It’s a perfect way to act on your gratitude, and share your holiday with Alameda County children, seniors, and families who are facing hunger and food insecurity this holiday season and year-round.

Plus, for every $1 you raise, we can provide $6 worth of food. (Please note, however, that all participants must still register to participate in the 5K — fundraising is a separate, super-special bonus option.)

See you on the track! And if you have any questions, feel free to reach out to us.
