We at ACCFB believe that food is medicine. And, during these hot August days, watermelon slushies are just what the doctor ordered.

Enjoy this recipe from our nutrition team that features chunks of frozen watermelon, lightly sweetened for the perfect afternoon hydrating drink!

Watermelon Slushie

Prep: 10 min

Freeze Time: 2 hr

Level: Easy

Servings: 2

Potential Allergens: Mint

  • 2 cups seedless watermelon
  • 1 Tbsp sugar or 2 Tbsp simple syrup (optional)
  • 2 Tbsp lime juice, plus slices for garnish
  • Fresh mint for garnish
  • Optional: slices of other summer fruits like strawberries

Dice and freeze the watermelon for at least 2 hours

Place the watermelon, simple syrup (if using), and lime juice into a blender and pulse until blended. You want to make sure there are no chunks in the mixture, but do not overblend, or else you will warm the drink too much

Pour in a glass and serve immediately, garnished with fresh mint and a lime slice. Enjoy!
