The Emergency Food Helpline
, the Food Bank's countywide referral program, will connect you to a source for a bag of groceries or a hot meal in your neighborhood. Our Emergency Food Helpline staff and volunteers make more than 3,000 referrals monthly and can assist callers in a wide array of languages.
It’s our No. 1 priority to connect anyone in urgent need with food the same day through an agency close to their home.
We can also connect callers to the following nutrition assistance programs:
- CalFresh (the name for the federal Food Stamps Program in California)
- WIC (food and nutrition resources for low-income pregnant women, infants, and young children)
The Food Bank also operates a Holiday food hotline in November and December and Free Summer Lunch hotline from June-August.
