Lead Volunteer John Koch doesn’t mind spending his Saturday mornings in our warehouse.
“It’s a really small thing to do that helps a lot. Coming in for a few hours on a Saturday can have a big impact,” he said.
John’s right. In just three hours, he and his fellow Saturday volunteers sort and package what amounts to thousands of meals for our neighbors. The hours spent here, John says, reverberate into the community and do good things.
Wanting to give back to the community he lives in, John first started supporting the Food Bank as a donor. When his company brought volunteers to the Food Bank as part of their day of service in 2017, John saw firsthand where his donations were going and how they were helping.
“Sometimes with volunteering, it can be hard to see the end result in terms of need. But, it’s easy to start here and know where it’s all going,” he said.
