Monthly donors Alma and Megan are the proud parents of Vida, 11, and Mateo, 5. Last year, Vida and her friend Piper raised close to $200 through a lemonade stand – and donated the funds to the Food Bank. “It’s important to teach our kids their place in the world, “ Alma says. Vida joined her moms in the movement to uproot hunger, will you?

Makes about 3 3/4 cups of Lemonade – Feel free to double it to make extra!

Ingredients

  • 6 lemons
  • 2 ½ tablespoons of white sugar
  • 2 ½ cups water

Directions

  1. Cut lemons in half (makes about 1 ¼ cups of lemon juice)
  2. Squeeze lemons into a pitcher
  3. Pour 2 ½ cups of water into pitcher and stir (if you want it more lemony, reduce to 2 cups)
  4. Add 2 ½ tablespoons white sugar
  5. Taste and add more sugar if you’d like it sweeter
